The Employment Development Department has released county unemployment figures for October, and the news is not good.

Here is a breakdown of the jobless rate for each county:

Fresno: 13.9% in October, up from 13.0% in September.

Kings: 13.9%, up from 12.8%.

Madera: 12.5%, up from 11.6%.

Merced: 14.7%, up from 14.4%.

Tulare: 14.4%, up from 14.0%.

California's unemployment rate was 10.1% in October, down from 10.2% the month before.
