Child Molestation: Hanford Man Accused

HANFORD, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Hanford man is behind bars, accused of molesting a young girl.

Hanford Police say they were called to a home shortly after 2:30 p.m. Saturday to investigate reports of child sex abuse.

Investigators say 22-year-old Michael Vargas molested a 9-year-old girl for approximately two months before they were notified.

Vargas was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child and penetration with a foreign object. His bail has been set at $500,000.
