FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Fresno Police are looking for the person who pulled the trigger in a shooting that left one man dead, and sent another to the hospital.
It happened at around 2 o'clock Sunday morning near 11th and Gettysburg -- that's about a block away from Fresno State.
Two men were driving in the area when they were shot, sending their car crashing into a home.
"I'm very lucky to be alive, going in there and seeing everything. My bed was just shifted, all impact was where my head was, that could've been me, I'm just happy," said Phillip Beale, who was not home when the crash happened.
He says he could have been a casualty in the deadly shooting.
Fresno Police say the men who were shot were in their 20's, and may have left a party in the area before they were gunned down.
"I was sleeping then I heard tires, then I heard gunshots, I thought I heard seven," said Jacqueline Campos, who lives across the street from where the shooting happened.
Reuben Merancio lives in the complex. He says his son ran out to the street to see if he could help and saw one man limp out of the car, but the driver didn't get out.
"He asked him are you okay? He didn't respond. He touched his heart...he told me dad he's dead, the guy is dead," said Merancio.
At this point police don't know why the men were targeted.
Fresno Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
