Selling Stuff On Craigslist? Police Say Be Careful

Posted:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Selling your unwanted items online is pretty simple, but authorities say it can sometimes lead to dangerous situations.

Fresno Police say two people were robbed earlier this month after posting ads for their cell phones on Craigslist.

In both cases, the sellers and buyers agreed to meet in the area of Cedar and Floradora in Central Fresno.

Police say the sellers were then robbed by two men who said they had a gun.

If you're planning to sell something online, police say you should stay alert, meet at a safe location and never invite a stranger into your home.

Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call Fresno Police at (559) 621-7000 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 621-STOP.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
