Mark Bittner's goal at 3:51 of overtime Monday night gave the Fresno Monsters a 3-2 North American Hockey League victory over the Kenai River Brown Bears.

It was the opener of a two-game series between the teams.

Zack Wallace and Luke Sandler scored the Monsters' first two goals. Goalie Tomas Sholl made 26 saves.

Fresno's record improves to 18-13-8. The series concludes Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Gateway Ice Center.
