
The Fresno State men's basketball team is still in search of its first conference win after dropping Thursday night's WAC home opener to Hawaii in overtime, 74-68.
The Bulldogs rallied from a nine point halftime deficit, and took a 58-56 lead in the final seconds. But Vander Joaquim's basket got the Rainbows to overtime, where Joaquim scored ten of his 23 points on the way to the win. Hawaii's Zane Johnson had 24 points to lead all scorers.
Garrett Johnson scored a career high 18 points for the Bulldogs while Kevin Olekaibe added 15, and Steven Shepp had a career high 11 assists.
With the loss, Fresno State's record falls to 7-11 overall, 0-3 in the WAC.
The Bulldogs host San Jose State Saturday night at the Save Mart Center.
