
The Fresno State softball team opened practice Monday with one month to prepare for opening night. The team returns seven seniors and welcomes nine newcomers.
Fresno State won the NCAA Championship in 1998, but has not been to the College World Series in Oklahoma City since 1999.
Head coach Margie Wright, in her 27th season at Fresno State, says she is sick and tired of not going to a Super Regional or the CWS, and is challenging her players to do what it takes to end that drought.
Fresno State will host Toledo on opening night, February 9th. The Bulldogs play their first ten games of the season at home.
Fresno State has the only softball program in the nation that has qualified for every NCAA regional in the 30 year history of the event.
