
The Fresno State men's basketball team could not prevent reigning WAC champion Utah State from extending it's home court winning streak in league games to 33 Thursday night, falling to the Aggies 72-53. It was the conference opener for both teams.
Fresno State took an early 12-10 lead, then watched Utah State go on a 17-3 scoring run.
The Aggies led 37-24 at halftime, and extended their lead in the second half. Utah State shot a blistering 65 percent from the field, but most of the baskets were lay ups or dunks. The Aggies finished with 42 points in the paint.
Jonathan Wills scored 16 points to lead the Bulldogs, who fall to 7-9 overall, 0-1 in the WAC. Jerry Brown added 14. Fresno State plays at Idaho Saturday night.
