FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Fresno State has confirmed that Tim DeRuyter has been hired as head coach of the university's football team.
DeRuyter is currently the interim football coach at Texas A&M.
Ironically, DeRuyter and Fresno State Director of Athletics Thomas Boeh have a previous connection: both were at the University of Ohio.
DeRuyter's first stint with the Bobcats was from 1995-1998.
He then had a second stint from 2002-2004, when Boeh served as the university's athletic director.
DeRuyter takes the helm from Pat Hill, who was fired earlier this month.
