VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Dinuba man has been arrested in connection with a 2009 bank robbery in Visalia, and authorities say it was a fingerprint that helped crack the case.

Visalia Police say a man walked into the Bank of the West on October 5, 2009 and handed the bank teller a note demanding money. They say the man then took the cash and ran off.

A fingerprint on the note was analyzed for more than two years until a match was found.

Investigators say the fingerprint and other evidence linked 23-year-old Roman Gabriel Espino to the crime.

Espino was arrested on October 24, 2011 and booked into the Tulare County Mail Jail on robbery charges.
