Clovis High Football Prepares for Bakersfield

Posted: Updated:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Four years removed from the worst season in school history, the Clovis High football team is almost all the way back, one victory away from playing for the Valley Championship. The weather here in the Valley has 'football' written all over it. Not a lot of sun, a lot of clouds, and brisk temperatures as fourth seeded Clovis gets ready for their DI semifinal matchup against top seeded Bakersfield.

With what this squad has already accomplished, you can bet, Clovis is proud. A turnaround like the one this senior class has produced is something special. When they were 8th graders, the Cougars went (0–10). Four years later they're (10–1).

After having their undefeated season ruined by Clovis West they didn't fold. They bounced back to shutout an explosive Central squad in the section quarterfinals.

Now, fourth seeded Clovis and top seeded Bakersfield face off in the Division One Semifinal from the South Valley on Friday at 7:00. The winner takes on the winner between Bullard and Edison in the Section Final
