While coaches are being shown the door out west, it was welcome home today in Columbus for Urban Meyer. He has indeed been hired as the new head coach at Ohio State, although Meyer denied even getting an offer late last week.

He inherits a Buckeyes' program that is expected to be hit soon with NCAA sanctions.

Meyer says the heart problems that caused him to leave Florida after two national championships are no longer an issue.

An Ohio native, Meyer grew up about 200 miles from the Ohio State campus and began his coaching career as a Buckeyes' assistant 25 years ago.
