Syracuse Fires Fine; Faulkner on Beating Bulldogs

Posted: Updated:

Syracuse University fires long time basketball assistant, Bernie Fine amid child molestation allegations. This on the heels of two new developments.

A third man came forward Sunday, claiming he too was molested as a boy, by Fine, in 2002, and a tape recording from a phone conversation in 2002 of Fine's wife, and one of the two original alleged victims, was released.

Fine's wife says that she knew about the abuse, and knew that Fine had a problem. Head basketball coach Jim Boeheim says that he knew nothing of the abuse and the firing is an appropriate step.

Former Bulldog, Matt Faulkner throws for 363 yards and two scores as the former Bulldog comes back to Fresno and beats his old team, 27–24. The first Spartan win in Fresno since 1987.

The Bulldogs close out the season on Saturday at San Diego State. Kickoff is set for 5:00. The bulldogs are looking for win number five, and trying to end a tough campaign on a high note.
