Call Hawaii Five-0! Potential Football Scandal at UH

Posted:

Police in Honolulu said this evening there is not enough evidence anybody on the University of Hawaii football team has been shaving points to open a criminal investigation.

The University was dealing with a potential scandal after receiving an anonymous letter containing allegations some players intentionally performed poorly to affect the final score.

That letter was turned over to the NCAA and to Honolulu Police.

Hawaii's record on the field this season is 5-6. The Warriors' record against the gamblers' betting line is 3-7-1. They have not beaten the point spread in two months.

This past Saturday, Hawaii blew a 21-17 lead to Fresno State in a 24-21 loss. I was on the sideline for that game and saw nothing obvious in terms of Hawaii players holding back.
