Fresno City College fell behind early against Bakersfield College, but used a spurt of points by Shailo Leafa to get back in it. Minutes later, they would take the lead and never relinquish it, winning 90-73.

The Fresno Monsters had opposite fate at Selland Arena. They took a 2-0 1st period lead against Alaska, but ended up losing 3-2 in a five man shootout.

Fresno's eight time national champion boxer, Gary Salazar leaves Fresno for Guatemala with the hopes of grabbing a spot on their 2012 Olympic team. His parents, who are both going with him, have duel citizenship in Guatemala, giving him the opportunity to fight for their homeland. The 16 year–old is too young to box for team USA.
