STILLWATER, Okla. (KMPH) -

Oklahoma State University says women's basketball coach Kurt Budke and assistant coach Miranda Serna were killed in a plane crash in central Arkansas Thursday night.

Serna was a Fresno State women's basketball assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 2002 to 2004.

The two coaches had been on a recruiting trip to Arkansas when their plane crashed outside of Little Rock.

University president Burns Hargis told reporters on Friday that the school does not know the cause of the crash.

Hargis says their deaths are the university's "worst nightmare" and he asks the community to come together during this tragic time.

The school has canceled the team's games this weekend.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
