The recent headlines involving the Penn State scandal have provided parents with opportunities to talk to their children about the dangers of sexual abuse.

Marriage and family therapist Paul Mavrogeorge offers these tips to help start the conversation with your children:

• Use news stories to open the conversation
• Talk specifically with children about the topic
• Be aware of the adults in your children's life
• Discuss acceptable and unacceptable behaviors
• Don't be afraid to ask adults if concerned about their behavior
