Posted:

Disaster can strike at any time without warning.

"Be Red Cross Ready Fresno," a free event designed to help the community prepare for disasters and emergencies, will be held on Saturday, September 17th, at the Boys and Girls Club, 930 Tulare Street, in Fresno.

The first workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the second one is from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The Red Cross will show families what items to include in a disaster supplies kit, how to make a communication plan and what to do in cardiac and first aid emergencies.

All participants will receive free preparedness information, a pocket first aid kit and lunch. There will also be opportunities to win several emergency kits and radios.
