TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) - A surfer who was hurt when a Los Angeles-area police officer rammed and shot up his truck during the manhunt for cop-turned-killer Christopher Dorner will receive $1.8 million. The 38-year-old David Perdue was on his way to surf in February 2013 when a Torrance officer mistook his pickup for Dorner's, rammed it and riddled it with bullets. Perdue wasn't shot but suffered head and spine injuries.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - An Orange County jury has convicted two women of kicking to death a third woman during a fight outside a Santa Ana nightclub. Candace Brito and Vanesa Zavala face up to 11 years in prison. Prosecutors say they kicked Annie Pham in the head after she was knocked down outside The Crosby nightclub. Cellphone video captured the brawl.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Police in Southern California say they're deciding whether to arrest an 80-year-old man who shot a fleeing unarmed burglar despite her telling him she was pregnant. Police Chief Jim McDonnell says 80-year-old Tom Greer is cooperating with the investigation, but he wouldn't say whether charges will be recommended to prosecutors. The chief says 28-year-old Andrea Miller didn't appear pregnant, but an autopsy would provide the answer.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police are looking for at least three suspects in the off-campus death of a USC graduate student from China. Police say an acquaintance found the 24-year-old engineering student yesterday morning in an apartment building. The university says he died of a head injury. His name wasn't released.
