A local soldier remains in critical condition, after he was hurt by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

Loved ones say Staff Sergeant Kenneth Mitchell, of Visalia, was hurt Saturday night

Mitchell, or "KC" as he's known, has already undergone several surgeries, and will have several more.

He is now resting in Germany, but will return to the states later this week for treatment at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC.
