Great Day Cool-Off Weekend Getaway Contest

Friday was especially festive this week, when Kim and Kopi finally announced the Grand Prize winner of the Community Correspondent "Cool-Off" Weekend Getaway Contest.

Theresa O'Brien, won the Grand Prize for her story titled in which she nominated her sister Carole and Brother-in-law Larry for the prize. You can read her story by clicking here.

Theresa wins a one night stay at the Santa Cruz Dream Inn, as well as $100 in gift certificates for food and beverages and eight tickets to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

However after reading all the deserving stories KMPH decided to pick 10 more finalists to give prizes to. These finalists won a family four pack to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

THE CONTEST

Summer may be coming to an end but the hot temperatures don't seem to letting up any time soon. So KMPH FOX 26 has partnered with Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Santa Cruz Dream in to give you an opportunity to "Cool-off" this summer.

We are giving away a one night accommodation stay at the Santa Cruz Dream Inn, with $100 in certificates for food and beverages, and a two-day family four pack to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

All you have to do is tell us in 500 words or less why you deserve a "Cool Off Weekend Getaway" on our Community Correspondent Page.

HOW DO I ENTER?

Submit your story containing 500 words or less by logging onto www.kmph.com.  Click onto the Community Correspondent link located in the center of the homepage. If you are not already a KMPH Community Correspondent, you must register, and then submit your story.  Contest begins Monday, August 24, 2009 and ends at noon Thursday, September 3, 2009.

HOW ARE THE WINNERS SELECTED?

A panel of judges from KMPH will select the winner from the stories posted on the Community Correspondent Page.

Grand Prize:

  • One night accommodation at the Santa Cruz Dream Inn includes 1 room with two queen beds.
  • A $100 gift certificate for food and beverages to be used at the pool bar, in-room dining or the Aquarius restaurant at the Santa Cruz Dream Inn.
  • A two-day family four-pack to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, totaling eight tickets.

Total value of the "Cool-Off Weekend Getaway: $638.00.

  KMPH FOX 26 accepts no responsibility for any and all mishaps or accidents that may occur through the use of the Prize. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

The finalists in each age category will be notified by phone and e-mail.  The odds of winning the Prize Package depends on how many entries received.

To be eligible to play, all qualifiers must meet the following requirements:

Players must sign up to be a Community Correspondent and submit a letter containing 500 words or less by noon September 3rd, 2009.
Winners must be at least 18 years of age.
Winners must be able to show a valid California ID or Driver's License to claim prize.
Players must be United States citizens or legal residents.
Limit one qualifier/player per household.
FOX Broadcasting and their subsidiaries and their families are not eligible to win.
No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law.
Prize is non-transferable. Prize has no cash equivalent.  Prize may not be exchanged.
KMPH FOX 26 will be the sole and final judge of eligibility and winner verification.
Winner's name, voice and likeness may be used for publicity, promotion and/or news purposes without further compensation.
By acceptance of prize, winner assumes full responsibility for all applicable income taxes, sales taxes, license and other fees that may apply.
Contestants are prohibited from winning if they have won a previous KMPH or KFRE contest within 30 days of winning this contest.
KMPH reserves the right to change the dates and/or details of this contest at any point during the contest.
